The Prashar Lake Trek is a short and easy trek in Himachal Pradesh, India. It takes you to a beautiful blue-water lake surrounded by the Dhauladhar, Pir Panjal and Kinnaur mountain ranges. The lake also has a floating island and a temple dedicated to Prashar Rishi, a sage from Hindu mythology. The trek offers stunning views of the snow-capped peaks, forests, meadows, and villages. The trek can be done throughout the year, but the best time is in January and February when the lake is semi-frozen and the surroundings are covered in snow. The trek starts from Baggi village, which is about 2 hours drive from Mandi. The trek distance is about 16 km and can be completed in 2 days. The trek is suitable for beginners and families, as it does not involve much altitude gain or technical difficulty

Arrive in Bir .Free explore and paragliding
Bir (1600 mtrs),surrounded by tea gardens and an amphitheater of low hills, is an ideal landing ground for para-glaiders. Bir has Buddhist monasteries that are worth visiting. Fine Tibetan handicrafts are also produced here. Billing,(2400 mts) up in the hills 14 km from Bir with an area of 200 km for high altitude and cross country flying, is one of the best aero sports sites in the country.
We will be staying tonight at the hotel.

Parashar lake camp . 3-4 Hr drive from Bir

Prashar Lake

Prashar Lake is a freshwater lake located at an elevation of 2,730 metres (8,960 ft) in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It lies 49 km (30 mi) east of the town of Mandi, and has a three storied pagoda-like temple dedicated to the sage Parashara situated on its bank. It contains a floating island. The lake is held sacred to the sage Parashara and he is regarded to have meditated there. The lake can be approached from Mandi or from Bajaura in Kullu Valley.
